Who: Shortstop Chris Speier
Team: San Francisco Giants
Card: 1973 Topps
Acquired: In Person, Redfest '08
Comments: Chris is the bench coach for the Reds. I figured I would find a card of him to get signed at Redsfest. I had no clue he had one of the coolest cards ever made. How about that action shot. That's a 1973 card, folks - not a whole lot of action shots back in those days. 1973 Topps is the bomb.
When I asked him, Chris said he thought he was safe in that play at the plate. Well... he was guessing. Funny.

And 73 Topps is (to me) the greatest set out there. I have been working on it for 2 months now.
What is it about year 3 sets? 53 was the best looking of the decade. 63 had the cool circle photos. And Rose rookie. 73 AWEZOME. 83 - Just classic, 93 Best of the 90's design wise. Then Aught3 ruined the streak.

Oh yes, I love '73 topps to. Great point about all the 3 sets. The '73 set would be a fun one to put together. Good luck!
