I've been meaning to do this for years.
On Flicker, I've started to post the photos I have from playing football at Tri-State University. My parents took a lot of photos at games they attended. A lot of them I gave to the guys that were in the photos. It became such a ritual that when we would have our workouts on Sunday they would ask if my parents had any photos of them. All the guys really appreciative when my folks had a photo for me to give them.
This was all spurred on by the upcoming homecoming game at Trine University this year. Yes, Trine. Tri-State changed it's name in August. I don't mind though. Anyways, at Homecoming, Trine is honoring the 1998 TSU football team with induction to the Athletic Hall of Fame. We finished 3rd in the nation that year, reaching the semi-finals in the NAIA playoffs. That's pretty cool, but I'm more excited to see a lot of the guys I played with. I figured I would start getting these photos posted to share. I've really been meaning to do it for a long, long time. Just needed the right inspiration, I guess.
So, the photo collection is here. I'll be adding sets all week. As of this post, I'm mostly done uploading what I have from 1996 - my freshman year. It includes varsity and JV games. I've got stuff all the way through 1999, so I have a ways to go. I still have a lot of scanning to do as well.
If your curious the photo above is from 1996 - Tri-State vs. Malone College at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, OH. It's right next door to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and where the NFL plays the Hall of Fame game every pre-season. Oh, the game... Malone abused us that day if I remember right. That's why I got to play! Ha. Oh, and I was 87 that year. I changed to 25 the next season.
Too many other blogs taking my attention away from this one. That's okay... it's all good stuff.
OMGreds OMGreds had a great summer. The baseball season is winding down and what seemed like a single-summer experiment will live on this off-season and on to next year. ::OMGreds.com
Posties Just a little experiment, Posties is a blog of Post-It Notes that I've doodled on a work. Haven't "posted" in a while there, but it tends to come in spurts. So, hopefully some more on their way. ::Posties
OMGautos Why must I put OMG on all my new blogs? Can't help it, I suppose. Autos is all about my collection of autographed baseball cards. Most I have gotten signed in person, but a few have been purchased or found in packs of baseball cards. It's more of a record of the collection than a blog. I've written a little story for each one explaining how I got it and what importance it may have. Some are near and dear. ::OMGautos
gdNYC G and I took a trip to NYC this summer and blogged all that shiz. I should have posted a link here, but alas, I didn't. Hopefully this will make up for it. ::gdNYC
I have another blog - OMGposties... or just posties. It's all Post-It notes that I've doodled on. No update schedule, no goals, just seeing how it goes. I have a handful more to scan in and post, but there are a few up now for you to check out. Some tweaks to the design will be happening soon... just to polish things off. So, check out my posties.
Here are a few photos that my step-mom, Susie, took today at the house. The Little Miami River is kicking butt today... and it's still raining! Wow.
When I was in high school, we were always good for at least one day each spring where we were flooded in and couldn't get out. How's that for a reason to be absent?
