The Finger

I'm really glad that Chad got a chance to jump into the Dawg Pound after a touchdown in Cleveland today. Good thing we had Tivo - got a chance to see that mega-finger directed toward Chad after the leap. Nice! Chad also got a beer or two poured on him. Chad knew what he was getting into though. How would have this turned out for Chad in 1988 or '89? Much worse, for sure.

Fountian Square JumboTron

G and I walked down to Fountian Square to watch the first quarter or so of the game. Great day to do that - nice weather.

Who Dey

It was a nice treat to see the Bengals preseason game tonight. We got word about the tickets on Friday, so it was a bit of a last minute thing. Nothing too exciting happened, and as I write, it looks like we are going to lose (4:42 left in the 4th). We have a long run early tomorow morning, so we took off in the middle of the 3rd quater. Time to hit the sack...

Still in the playoffs

Gretchen and I went to our first Bengals game of the year and didn't see a good one at all. They just didn't come to play this past Sunday. Hopefully they will have a good showing this weekend in Kansas City.

There were some entertaining things about the game though. The kids in front of us were cracking us up. Sleeping in their seats, playing with their food, demanding attention of their father who was rightfully wrapped up in the game. They were not whinny, which was nice, but squirmy. We took some photos. He is one of the little guys playing with 3/4 eaten hoagie.

One thing that struck me at the game was the amount of fans wearing orange and black. Now, a sea full of fans wearing the team colors is something that is fairly common at other NFL stadiums. But, I've been regularly going to Bengals games the past six seasons and I've never seen so many folks wearing jerseys, jackets, sweatshirts, etc. The Pro Shop at the studium was cleaned out from Christmas shopping. I see people out in public wearing Bengals gear. It's been YEARS since it's been like that. Anyways, I took this photo to show the sea of orange and black that was at the stadium.

Fear da Tiger

You can fear it here.

So, Bootsy is doing a CD signing downtown this weekend. I'm mildly thinking about going. What a dork I am.

What if the Bengals go to the Super Bowl? It's just 4 1/2 hours up 75 from us. Bengal Nation would be out in force up there. I could stay with PHiL. Hmmmm....
