5k PR

Dan 5k
So, how about a 5k on Friday night? Sounds fun! Well, I guess it was in the end. I ran the Brian Rohne Race over at NKU tonight with what seemed like nearly every college cross country runner in Northern Kentucky. Even though most of those kids smoked me, I must have been inspired because I ran a personal best 21:18:5 (official), beating my previous best of 21:25 from 2003. It feels good to be back! It was a tougher course than the one I PRed on a few years ago too.

So, Gretchen captured the photo above with her camera phone, and took a much better photo than I did of her last week at a 10k. Thanks sweets!

More races coming up. Training for the Chicago Marathon, the Hood to Coast relay is in exactly two weeks, and I have at least one other 5k thrown in there in September. Looking forward to them all.

Way to go, Dan!

My dad and I are trying to run a 5K every couple months - got any suggestions for upcoming runs?

Yes!

Blue Ash Airport Days:

Race for the Cure:

I am running Race for the Cure, for sure. Maybe the other two as well. Cure is a great race. I have heard from fellow runners that Airport Days is great. Metric falls on Labor Day - good day to run and seems like a pretty flat course.

Good luck!!!
