Flatstock 13

Keith and Rob at Flatstock 9
Headed to Flatstock 13 in Chicago with Rob this weekend to be his booth monkey, meet some artists, hear some music at the Pitchfork Music Festival and cause some havoc. You can keep up with all the action on our Flatstock 13 Blog. Should be killer.

Photos from our trip last year are right here, and here (scroll down a litle bit - they are all tagged "gigposters")

Keith, Rob and Corrie in the will-call line for the Guster at Bogart's. How about Rob checking out his poster? Looks good, eh?

Small Print @ work

Rob and Keith of Small Print Studios sign their Guster poster just hours before the show at the bar across the street. Nothing like getting it done at the last minute, huh? Regardless, it's a great poster and quite a few people bought them at the show. If you would like to pick one up yourself, or just check it out go to: www.thesmallprintstudios.com. They'll have it on sale there soon.

Rocked out.

Ronson
Pop Rocked 2 was fantastic last night. Got to catch up with Brian and Sarah (Cricket Press and Clinton Reno (Galaxy Reno) all of whom I met at Flatstock 9 in Chicago. Highlights of the night were free beer (thanks Powerhouse) and Paul. Great times.

Pictured above is CiN Weeekly's Ronson Slagle, the proud owner of a framed Beck print by Boss Construction.

I picked up a nice My Morning Jacket print from Galaxy Reno. (photo to come...)

Here are some photoblogged shots from last night. Blogger goofed on me and created an entirely new blog instead of putting them up right here. Still not sure what's up with that.

Here is a Flickr set from last night.

PAUL UPDATE! Oh hell yeah...

Poster Poppin'

Pat Jones and Keith Neltner
Tonight is Powerhouse Factories' Pop Rocked 2 opening, featuring midwest poster artists, including Rob Warnick and Keith Neltner. You can find information here and here. Pictured above are BADASSES Pat Jones (from Powerhouse) and Keith. I'll probably be photoblogging at the gallery tonight, so stay tuned... Yeah... Like you are checking out my blog on a Friday night. That would be sad, wouldn't it? Oh, and here's a Flash intro for Pop Rocked.

So, speaking of Keith, we launched his website redesign at www.neltnercreative.com last weekend. Keith did the design and I threw down on the HTML and programming goodies. It turned out really nice and represents his work well.

Also launched last week was the website for Leave No Child Inside of Greater Cincinnati. I worked with the wonderful Betsy Townsend on the project and we came up with a nice little site. It's a work in progress, as there will be a full events calendar on the site early next year.

I think that is all for now. Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. It's damn cold here in Cincy, but it's beautiful out. I'll take it.

A small feat

Little Birdie
On the day of the dead, Rob and Keith have life... on the web. www.thesmallprintstudios.com, Rob Warnick and Keith Neltner's collaboration of epic rock poster proportions is now alive and kicking. Please be sure to check it out. They are showcasing all the poster goodies they have created over the past year or so, including the poster for tonight's Frank Black show at the Southgate House. I'll be there with Rob, aka, +1.

In other things, I still have yet to post about the marathon last weekend (shit, two weekends ago) in Chicago. I'm getting to it. I'll post my splits then too. Been busy with other internet-type things lately.

Hope you all have a great Halloween. To get you in the mood, check out this video over at Gina's blog. SCARY SHORTS!!!

Blood. Lines.

Blood. Lines. is artist Keith Neltner's show over at Power House Factories, Inc. The photo above is from the show opening on Friday night, featuring Keith's work and a performance by the Kentucky Struts. It was a great opening, Keith's stuff looked kick-ass and it was good to catch up with a lot of folks and meet some new ones. Good luck to Keith on the show. If you are interested in going, it runs from now until November 24th.

If you one of the two fans of my blog, you may remember Keith featured in posts about Flatstock 9 in Chicago.

Sunday morning

Here's the scene when we started setting up on Sunday morning. There was a storm blowing through Chicago that morning, and everyone was bracing for rain. You can imagine what that is like with a bunch of folks who print posters... on paper.... yeah, crazy. Luckily though, it blew threw with no rain. Some tents were a little touched up from the wind, but nothing major.

Pollard print

Robert "Bob" Pollard print by Clint Reno. He shared a tent with Small Print for the weekend and is a super-talented artist and great guy. It was great meeting him and his wife, Becky over the weekend. Great folks. I really liked this print to. Check out his website, www.galaxyreno.com, for more great stuff.

Flatstock 9 rocked!

Keith Neltner at Flatstock 9 - ChicagoIt's Tuesday, Flatstock 9 - Chicago has been over for two days and I'm still tired. What a weekend! I can't tell you how cool it was meeting all the great artists that were there and helping my boys with their booth.

The photos seemed to come into blog okay on Saturday, but nothing made it up from Sunday. Not that you were missing all that much, but it was kind of a bummer.

I'll have more later, plus photos from my digital camera. Busy week for me this week, so it may be a few days.

On the poster note, I got some fantastic loot from Burlesque of North America, Strawberry Luna, Hero, Yee-Haw, Aesthetic Apparatus, Michael Michael Motor Cycle, Delicious, Daniel Danger, GigArt and more.

Again, more later...

EDIT: Looks like more photos from my phone are rolling in. We'll see what comes through.

Chicago rooftops

Not the best photo, but that's what you get from a camera phone late at night. Anyways, this photo was taken from the rooftop of the Crosshair headquarters in Chicago, near Union Park. I think they call it printer's row? Or, maybe that is close by? Not sure. Anyways, the guys from Crosshair threw a little party after the first day of Flatstock. They had plenty of Miller High Life and Old Style for the poster geeks to drink. I tell you what - I had ONE Old Style that night on the roof (it was the only beer I had that day) and I had a headache the next morning. What the hell is in that stuff, and why do Chicago folks like it so much? Anyways, I was still grateful for the beer. Though you can't tell in the photo, they had a great view of the city from rooftop. Check out their website for a much better view from the rooftop.

Rob outside The Hideout

The Hideout was just that - a little out-of-the-way bar in a warehouse district in Chicago. Great place for the Flatstock BBQ/Party. Got to meet some great folks, had a couple 312's and some Giordano's Pizza. Great kick-off to the weekend. The photo if of Rob walking out the front door to have a seat with us.

Flatstock & Pitchfork

Tomorrow, I will be taking of with Rob and Keith for Chicago to hit the Pitchfork Music Festival and Flastock 9 with them. Those guys are fantastic poster artists and will have a booth at Flatstock. I'm just a wanna-be designer along for the ride. A groupie, I guess.

Anyways, I am going to be photo blogging while we are there, right here, on this blog. So, if you one of the three people that actually read this thing, keep it tuned all weekend. Who knows what's going to pop up.

My initial plan was to do a Flatstock/Pitchfork blog for just the weekend, and really pimp it out. But, work has gotten in the way and I never got it done. Maybe next time. It's not like I don't have enough blogs anyways.
